During a recent school committee meeting, there was a vote to unanimously extend the contract for the legal counsel who represents Diman Vocational Technical High School in Fall River.
The contract for Gregory Brilhante was set to expire on on August 7th, 2017, but negotiations ended in his contract being extended to 2021. He has served as legal counsel for Diman since 1991, and claims to have a good working relationship with the committee and administration, despite previous legal disputes between the three, which ultimately was dismissed.
Per state law, issues involving personnel and contract negotiations can be held in executive session; however, the committee met in open session per Brilhante’s request.
