At a signing ceremony today, officials from Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School, Bristol Community College, and UMass Dartmouth (UMassD) launched a program that will allow engineering students at Diman the ability to earn college credit while completing their high school education.
Under the plan, Diman students in their junior and senior year can take college-level courses administered by Bristol with those credits being seamlessly transferred toward a bachelor’s degree at UMassD. Bristol president Dr. Laura Douglas says this new pathway for students will ultimately lead to quality job opportunities within the region.
Through this program, Diman students will be able to earn their bachelor’s degree in three years with a cost savings of over $22,000.
