Under sunny skies today, a multitude of city and state dignitaries attended a Bridge Overpass Dedication Ceremony for Former State Senator Joan M. Menard. The Innovation Way bridge overpass off Exit 8B on Route 24 was the site of the event that brought out Mayor Jasiel Correia, City Council Vice President Linda Perreira; Children’s Museum Executive Director Joanne Sbrega; and State Senator Michael Rodrigues, to name just a few. State Representative Carole Fiola served as the hostess of ceremonies. After numerous speeches were given praising Menard for her hard work as an educator, legislator, and administrator over her 32 year career, Menard took the podium thanking the crowd for celebrating this honor with her:
