A 71 year old Fall River man is set to appear in court to attend a dangerousness hearing this morning.

Manuel Valente of 46 Hunter Street was arrested earlier this week on his fifth drunk driving charge, after a motorist spotted his vehicle erratically swerving all over Route 195. After the motorist called police with his concern, an officer caught up with the described vehicle on Maple Street in Fall River around 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 27th. After smelling a strong odor of alcohol on Valente’s breath, the officer arrested him. Afterwards, it was discovered that Valente had been arrested three times in Massachusetts, and once in New York on driving under the influence. It was also determined that he had lost his driver’s license for life two years ago.
