Fall River City Council President Cliff Ponte called a special city council meeting last night to discuss the political future of Mayor Jasiel Correia. Councilor Shawn Cadmine put a motion on the floor that would temporarily remove the mayor from office because of the 13 count federal indictment lodged against him. Councilor Steve Camara stopped further discussion at the end of the meeting, which is allowed under the newly revised City Charter. Here’s why:
