Council Opposition to Setting Date of Recall Election

Only one Fall River City Councillor voted against setting the date of the recall election of Mayor Jasiel Correia.  Prior to the final vote, Councillor Steven Camara indicated that his objection was based on his wishes for the council to gain more information on the recall process and to allow any objections to be heard.

Councillor Camara made a motion to waive the rules to allow Corporation Counsel Joe Macy to answer questions from the council on the recall, but the matter failed on a vote of 6-3.
