A nature trail at Fall River’s Cook Pond will be dedicated to Dr. David S. Weed at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25. Following the ceremony, students from Henry Lord Community School will unveil a David S. Weed Nature Trail commemorative sign.
An avid supporter of bike and walking paths in Fall River, Weed, a psychologist, retired last year as executive director of Greater Fall River Partners for a Healthier Community. He was a founding member of the Fall River Fitness Challenge and “worked his entire professional career, and beyond, to make Fall River healthier in an extraordinary number of ways,” according to a press advisory.
The ceremony will take place at the foot of Amity Street, immediately west of and adjacent to Henry Lord Community School.
