School Committeeman Paul Coogan will be Fall River’s next mayor.
Mr. Coogan was elected mayor Tuesday night garnering 10,653 votes, 79.4% of all ballots cast. He defeated incumbent Mayor Jasiel Correia, who finished third with 1,002 votes. A combination of write-in candidates, likely led by City Administrator Cathy Ann Viveiros, finished second in the balloting with 1,756 votes.

During her concession speech, Mrs. Viveiros paid tribute to the accomplishments the current administration has made during her time as the city administrator.
