Brownell Street in Fall River is closed to vehicular traffice between North Court Street and Thompson Street for the next month. The Massachusetts Department of Transportation Highway Division has announced the closure as workers conduct final painting of the railroad bridge over Brownell Street. During the closure, the roadway will be open to local traffic only with access to residences maintained at all times. Detour signage is currently in place (see below). Police advise motorists to proceed with caution in that area or seek alternative routes.
Heading west on Brownell Street:
Left onto Thompson Street to President Avenue
Right onto President Avenue to Boomer Street
Right onto Boomer Street to Brownell Street
Heading east on Brownell Street:
Right onto Boomer Street to President Avenue
Left onto President Avenue to Thompson Street
Left onto Thompson Street to Brownell Street
