Last year Massachusetts signed into law a statute that creates a paid benefit that will make up to 12 weeks of paid family leave and up to 20 weeks of paid medical leave available to most workers starting in January 2021. The benefit will be funded by premiums paid by employers, employees, and the self-employed.
The Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development (EOLWD) has scheduled a public listening session in Fall River concerning the draft regulations on Department of Family and Medical Leave. It will be held from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, at the MassHire Career Center at 446 North Main Street.
Community members are invited to attend the meeting and share comments, feedback, or data related to the new regulations. Participants must provide a form of identification before testifying.
