The SouthCoast Community Foundation continues its strong leadership role in providing funding for local agencies serving the needy impacted by COVID-19.
Foundation President John Vasconcellos says the organization’s SouthCoast Emergency Response Fund has made seven sets of awards to local social service agencies in the region who are on the front lines of helping those in need.
Vasconcellos says throughout the pandemic the needs of those impacted have evolved.
Through all this work, the Foundation found time to re-brand itself, announcing last week a name change from the Community Foundation of Southeastern Massachusetts to the SouthCoast Community Foundation. The name change has been in the works for some time and Vasconcellos says it better encompasses the organization’s reach and mission.
