Community Connections in Fall River is expanding its services through a program that will assist adults with developmental disabilities “on a pathway to employment, use of community resources, volunteerism and building healthy relationships.”

The Community Based Day Supports (CBDS) program is meant to support individuals in meeting their life goals and dreams.

The CBDS program began last month and currently serves only a handful of individuals. Prospective clients are usually referred to the program by the Department of Developmental Services. Mark Campbell of Fall River is one of those individuals. He says he has taken part in several activities and hopes to one day get a job.

When it comes to finding a job, Community Connections works to help individuals navigate the hiring process.

As the CBDS program expands, it’s likely to mimic other Community Connections programs in having a long-lasting impact on both the clients and members of the organization.
