The City of Fall River is looking to increase water and sewer rates for the fiscal year that starts on July 1. The city is also seeking to raise the stormwater fee.

In a letter to the Fall River City Council along with the proposed budget for the Water and Sewer Divisions for FY 2022, Mayor Paul Coogan is proposing to raise sewer rates by $.07 and water rates by $.05.  The sewer rate will increase from $5.59/ccf to $5.66/ccf.  The water rate will rise from $3.43/ccf to $3.48/ccf. One ccf equals 748 gallons.

The city is also seeking a $1.00 increase to the stormwater fee from $46.00/ERU to $47.00/ERU.

The impact on rates for an average family using, 109 galls per day, would be an increase of $10.36 for the year or $.86 per month.

The city council needs to approve any rate increase before it was to go into effect.
