The City of Fall River recognized June as Pride Month yesterday by raising the Pride Flag outside Government Center.
The Progress Pride Flag will fly at Government Center throughout the month, recognizing the values of diversity, equity and inclusion within the local LGBTQ+ community.
Fall River Pide Committee member Nikita Viera says the meaning of Pride month is more than just celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, it’s working together in ending stigmas and prejudices.
Pride Committee Co-Chair Sean Connell says even though the United States is becoming more inclusive, that’s not the case across the rest of the world.
The Fall River Pride Committee is planning a large community event for later this month.
