Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan was joined by Police Chief Jeffrey Cardoza and District Attorney Tom Quinn to provide updates and the city’s response to a spike in gun and other violent criminal activity in Fall River over the past month.
The Police Department reports that there have been nine shootings in the city since June 1. Chief Cardoza says the incidents are not random and the city is beefing up support to investigate and keep streets safe.
Mayor Coogan added the city is making a concerted effort to control other acts that are of concern to local residents.
