Local victims of the opioid epidemic will be remembered at two ceremonies in Fall River on Friday, August 31, in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day.
A candlelight vigil including a video in memory of loved ones lost to overdose will be held at Government Center from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Following the vigil a procession will travel by candlelight to St. Anne’s Church for prayers and ringing of the church bells in memory of victims.
In conjunction with the vigil, the Greater Fall River Help Center/Resources will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. in the lobby of Government Center. The center provides support and services to city residents affected by substance use disorders.
