City Councilors Want Update On Economic Development Plans

City Councilors want to know more about Mayor Jasiel Correia’s Economic Development plans for the city now that the Fall River Office of Economic Development is not the driving force in this arena. $325 thousand dollars of Community Development Agency funds meant for the Fall River Office of Economic Development was withheld from that organization this year because the mayor wants to establish a city-run office with the help of the Redevelopment Authority.

Since the CDA money has not been spent, Council Vice President Pam Laliberte-Lebeau, who also serves as the chair of the Economic Development & Tourism Subcommittee, called a special meeting to discuss whether the funding should be returned.  She also wants the subcommittee to hear more about the mayor’s plans to move his marketing campaign “Make It Here” forward. Below are details about the meeting to be held tonight, April 3rd, 2018.

Purpose: To discuss the state of economic development in the city
Where: Fall River Government Center
Time: 5:30 p.m.
Open to the public
