Battleship Cove was the host yesterday of a ceremony commemorating the 21st anniversary of those lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001.
The event remembered the dozens of first responders lost in the terrorist attack while celebrating the work done each day by the first responders who serve Fall River and the rest of the country.
This year’s ceremony also included the donation of an artifact from the World Trade Center that recently was hosted on funeral engine 266, named in honor of fallen Fall River District Fire Chief Gerald Nadeau who died in the line of duty in 2002.
Fall River Fire Chief Roger St. Martin said those who sacrificed their lives during 9-11 should never be forgotten…and we as a nation should look to restore the sense of patriotism and common ground that was on display after the attacks took place.
