The City of Fall River has issued an update on the payment of real estate, personal property and motor vehicle excise taxes as well as water and sewer fees.

Information Regarding Bill Payments
(Fall River, MA- May 7, 2020)- Per the executive order signed by Mayor Paul E. Coogan on April 16, 2020, here is a summary of the extension of real estate and personal property tax dues and application deadlines for certain statutory exemptions, and the authorization of the Tax Collector to waive certain
interest and penalties.
1. Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes
- 4th quarter due date extended from May 1, 2020 to May 15, 2020.
- City will waive demand fees and interest accrued on the 4th quarter payment only provided that full payment is received by the Collector’s office no later than June 29, 2020.

2. Motor Vehicle Excise Tax
- Commitment #1 was due on March 12, 2020. We have delayed adding demand fees but the due date has not been extended.
- Commitment #2 is due by May 22, 2020 but interest and fees will be waived if full payment is received by the Collector’s office no later than June 29, 2020.
- No fees and penalties waived on bills that were issued for prior years.

3. Water/Sewer
- There are no changes. Interest begins to accrue after the due date.
- Not all bills have the same due dates as they are sent out in batches.
- The Water Department chooses the demand date and issues the demand notice.
