The Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition is continuing its work coordinating the expansion of the arts in Fall River.
One SouthCoast Chamber co-CEO Micahel O’Sullivan says after many years of trying, there is now a concerted, unified effort to grow the arts.
Funding for the coalition was driven by foundation money and support from the local business community. Julie Gagliardi of Baycoast Bank says the investment from the bank made sense in the face of the success of other regional arts initiatives.
The coalition is in the process of undertaking the development of an arts and culture master plan which will guide local growth. Coordinator Devon Torres says the coalition is planning local activities to tie artists to local businesses. The first effort is underway.
The details of the master plan are expected to be released later this fall.
