The City of Fall River has a new vehicle in its fleet, one that could boost tourism and generate revenue.
Mayor Paul Coogan tells us the city secured a grant to purchase a used trolley for use by the city and its residents.
The mayor says the city is again planning a full calendar of events for residents and tourists this summer. With most of the activity slated for the waterfront, the city is starting a pilot project to launch a small water taxi service that will travel from Commonwealth Landing to the Borden Light Marina.
The mayor says the water taxi will have limited seating and the revenue collected from the rides will likely offset the cost to the city for the service.
