Citizens for Citizens, Inc.’s Operation Christmas program has provided toys for city youth for over 50 years. This year, it is in dire need of donations to give gifts to 4,000 city children.
Program coordinator Chrystal Arpa says the goal of Operation Christmas is to provide families struggling to make ends meet with toys to give their children.
So far this year, the amount of toy donations is substantially behind those of years past.
Ms. Arpa says she fears that some difficult decisions may need to be made this holiday.
With the toy distribution day two weeks away, there’s time for people to donate to Operation Christmas.
Ms. Arpa has been working on behalf of Operation Christmas for 21 years and remains grateful for the volunteers and donors who make the campaign a success.
The deadline for families seeking support from Operation Christmas is this Friday, December 5. Toy distribution will take place on Saturday, December 13.
