A California-based company called Mobilitie has approached the Fall River City Council with a proposal to construct fourteen (14) cell poles as high as 80 feet to be constructed throughout the city. Public Safety and Transportation Subcommittee member City Councilor Ray Mitchell says, the proposal was tabled recently and the company told to take the issue up with the Correia administration first. Mitchell is hesitant about the pole construction because of possible health concerns that could arise with the poles forming a electromagnetic field, a concern residents share. While the poles would provide Wi-Fi service to city residents, it would not come without a price tag too, according to Mitchell:
