2019 is the Year of the Pig in the Chinese zodiac, and Fall River Public Library has special plans to celebrate it on Tuesday, February 5, the Chinese New Year,
A morning event at 10:30 a.m. will include preschool story time featuring books about pigs, after which children will make Year of the Pig crowns. At 4:00 p.m. children are invited to decorate wands with dragons, a Chinese symbol of wealth and good luck, and march in an indoor dragon parade. Library staff members have created ornate costumes for the latter.
