Fall River police are investigating a report of numerous bullet casings found by a Warren Street resident yesterday. Police who responded to the scene discovered close to 20 shell casings running along an area from Williston to Baker Streets. They appeared to be from .38 caliber and .40 caliber guns.
A resident of the street said he heard what he initially thought was fireworks going off on the street sometime before midnight, but as the sounds diminished, he realized the shots came from a vehicle or vehicles traveling east on the street.
Fall River Police Lt. John DeMello said the police on the scene were sent to process the information and to pick up the casings.
“No one was injured and we’re still looking into it,” DeMello added.
