We know that limiting social contact or “social distancing” can be beneficial to curtailing the spread of the Coronavirus.

As a result, all events, seminars and other gatherings hosted by, or held at the college, at any Bristol location (Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton), with anticipated audiences larger than 50, will be cancelled or postponed from Friday, March 13, through Friday, April 3.

For the complete listing of event cancellations at any college location please frequently check the cancellations link, located at www.bristolcc.edu/coronavirus.

Cancellations will be continuously updated and events may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Bristol Community College is also taking the following steps:

Bristol is working with the college’s faculty and staff to find solutions that best meet the educational needs and success of our students. It is important that the college begin taking additional actions now to slow the spread of the disease, based on the information that we have available.

  • March 13 & 14: Classes run as scheduled
  • March 16-21: Spring Break, as scheduled
  • March 23-28: There will not be any credit classes held, face-to-face and online, but college departments and many services will be OPEN.
  • March 30 to April 4: The college may move classes online, but that plan is still being determined.

The college will utilize Bristol’s spring break period, from Monday, March 16, to Saturday, March 21, to extend cleaning and disinfecting procedures focusing on classrooms, common areas and further implementing new protocols.

There will not be any credit classes held, face-to-face and online, from Monday, March 23, through Saturday, March 28. The college will remain OPEN and many services will still be available, with some exceptions that are temporarily closed, below. During this time, the college will plan and implement future steps.

Temporarily Closed from Saturday, March 14 through Saturday, April 4:

  • Bristol’s Library located at the Fall River Campus will be closed to the public. Students and employees may continue to visit the library.
  • Bristol’s Fitness Center, Dental Hygiene Clinic and Grimshaw-Gudewicz Art Gallery, located at the Fall River Campus, will be closed to all.

The college will plan to consider options such as moving classes to remote learning from Monday, March 30, through Saturday, April 4. More details will be shared with the college community.
