The Fall River Public Library – South Branch – is holding a book discussion group this Thursday, September 17th at 2:00 p.m. at 58 Arch Street.

Not your usual book discussion group, though.

“We have a more casual group of people turn out,” says Library Spokeswoman Ms. Betsy Washburn, “People who participate are those who have read any genre of literature over the last month or so and share what they have read with group members.”

Sometimes there are themes; sometimes not. Past themes have included, gardening, cooking, and even science fiction.

Ms. Washburn is quick to point out to Frcconnect.org that her colleague, Ms. Debra Baptiste came up with the idea.

“Deb thought it would be nice to serve tea and light refreshments while sharing knowledge about different books folks have read,” she adds.

The book discussion is open to the public, and is free of charge. Participants are asked to bring their own tea cups, although Ms. Washburn does say there are usually one or two extras hanging around for someone to use. In addition, there is off the street parking.
