In a bid to keep Fall River area residents fit and healthy, Mass in Motion is holding yet another Bicycle Helmet Give-A-Way event this weekend.
Mass in Motion is a city-run program that promotes healthy living. Spokesperson Janice Veloza says, that even though summer is gone, people bike all year round, especially on the Alfred J. Lima Quequeshan Rail Trail.
In order to keep children who ride their bikes, skate, or scooter in that area and other parts of the city safe, the bike helmets will be available free to residents on Saturday, October 15th at the Rodman Street entrance (near Stop & Shop) between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
“The Bell manufactured Helmets are available to children, but some adult versions are available,” Veloza says. “They are donated by the Fall River Kiwanis Club & Truesdale Foundation.”
