The Bristol Community College (BCC) Board of Trustees has named the Science Building at the Fall River Campus in honor of Thomas A. Rodgers, Jr. following the donation of $1 million from the Rodgers Family Foundation.

At a ceremony held today at BCC,  Board of Trustees Chairman Joseph A. Marshall announced the receipt of the gift, the largest donation made by the Rodgers Foundation to the college.

“The Rodgers Family Foundation has been monumentally important to the growth of BCC’s Fall River campus,” said Marshall, “Because of donors like the Rodgers Family Foundation, Bristol Community College has been able to grow in space, technology, and opportunity.”

The Rodgers Family Foundation has also donated $460,000 over the years to BCC in support of scholarships and the building of the Rodgers Cyber Cafe in the Farley Learning Resources Center as well as the Rodgers Welcome Center located in the Commonwealth College Center.

Thomas A. Rodgers, Jr. was the founder of Globe Manufacturing in Fall River and the Rodgers Family Foundation has been generous in its support of many Fall River-based organizations.
