With random shootings at Community Colleges around the country, as well as just about anywhere, Frcconnect.org sought out Director of Public Safety Wayne Wood to ask him about self defense. The first piece of advice he gave to anyone who not to become a victim is Awareness.
“If you are aware of your surroundings and potential danger you have a better chance to protect yourself he says.
Director Wood also talked about a class he teaches women to help them in his words “Become empowered.”
Director Wood also advises against not overreacting. For example, only physically protect yourself if a potential attack refuses to get out of your personal space, or if they physically touch you in a threatening way.
