Lawyers representing Fall River City Council President Pam Laliberte on harassment and witness intimidation charges have filed a motion to continue her arraignment to sometime next month.
Attorneys Frank Dennis Camera and Kathryn Blythe Carlson filed a motion this morning seeking a continuance of Laliberte’s arraignment until either October 13 or October 19. She was scheduled for arraignment this morning in Fall River District Court.
Laliberte faces charges filed by Westport Police of harassment of an ex-lover’s wife by sending annoying calls and text messages. Police were able to trace the messages to Ms. Laliberte-Lebeau’s phone.
She also faces two counts of witness intimidation for allegedly trying to interfere with the police investigation into the harassment case.
The next meeting of the Fall River City Council is tonight where members may attempt a vote of no confidence in Laliberte and remove her as president.
