We are heading into the colder months of fall and winter so it’s time to get protected against seasonal flu and COVID infections.
Fall River director of Health and Human Services Tess Curran says the timing of when people may be more susceptible to catching the flu and or COVID varies.
Ms. Curran encourages residents to get the latest flu and COVID vaccines, preferably by the end of the month to be protected through the winter. She says vaccine awareness has increased since the pandemic yet not everyone follows through to get the shots.
Those having difficulty getting to or using a community vaccination location may be eligible for an in-home vaccination.
Ms. Curran also recommends residents take advantage of free COVID tests through the federal government by visiting covidtests.gov.
