The semi-annual job fair sponsored by the City of Fall River, and the Fall River Career Center, was held today at Government Center. The lobby was packed as people turned out to meet with representatives of over 70 local companies looking to hire potential workers, sometimes on the spot.
“We encouraged job seekers to come to the fair dressed for success,” Career Center Director Joe Viana says adding, “We had an excellent turnout with a couple of hundred people stopping by with resumes and ready to answer job-related questions from prospective employers.”
The Career Center offers job training and workshops on how to write resumes and cover letters to area residents, even if they are not receiving unemployment benefits.
“Our services are open to everyone,” Viana says. “If you want a job, we are here to help you get one.”
