It’s almost time for Phase Two of the Route 79 reconstruction process to get underway, according to City Planner William Kenney.
He tells Frcconnect.org that Fall River will go out to bid in an effort to secure a contract with an engineering firm to complete 25% of the design work necessary to move the project along.
“The city must hire engineering experts to come up with a plan to implement the physical aspects of the next phase of construction from – where and how the underground wiring will be placed, to how electric flow will be handled, to how much land will be freed up for development, among other tasks,” he says.
Mr. Kenney estimates the Phase Two Project will go out to bid within the next four months, even though it will be quite some time before the actual work is started.
“Phase One still has another year or more to go before being finished,” he says, adding that during some of that time the new engineering firm will be working on the phase Two of development design plans.”
