As promised, 500 employees have been hired to work in the Amazon Fulfillment Center slated to open on September 22nd. The facility is located in the city’s Industrial Park. Amazon officials have been working in conjunction with the Fall River Career Center and other community partners, including People, Inc. and Bristol Community College, to hire as many Fall River workers as are eligible.
The last two hiring events will take place August 23rd and 24th at the UMass Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, according to Fall River Career Center Director Joe Viana. It is then that the newly hired employees will be given job assignments, and information about drug testing and background checks.
