Fall River lost an icon this week. The Reverend Robert Lawrence, longtime pastor of First Congressional Church, passed away Tuesday at the age of 88. If you’ve been to many an event in Fall River over the last few decades you’ve no doubt seen Reverend Lawrence. He was not easy to forget. His commanding presence and resonant voice made him one of the city’s most recognizable figures in the city. His contributions to his church and this community have been profound, and will impact our region for decades to come.
