A ribbon cutting ceremony to honor construction improvements made to Father Travassos Park and its connection with the Quequechan River Rail trail will be held Monday, June 5th at the Fall River park located in the Flint area of the city.
Thanks to $8.2 million dollars provided by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and EEA’s Gateway City Parks Program, construction was made possible that connected the Flint neighborhood to the Quequeshan River Rail Trail that were previously cut off by Interstate I-195. This connection encouraged recreational activities, and outdoor experiences in the heart of the city’s downtown.
City and state officials will cut a ceremonial ribbon to recognize the completed construction project, including Fall River Mayor Jasiel Correia and State Representative Mike Rodrigues. The public is invited to attend.
