If Cannatech Medicinal can secure a license to grow medical marijuana, then the city of Fall River will sell the Attleboro-based company twelve acres of land in the city’s biopark.

That was the decision of the Redevelopment Authority after hearing a presentation by Cannatech Medicinal representatives on December 9th.

Dr. Henry Crowly, an anesthesiologist with Same Day Surgical clinci at 272 Stanley Street, is the President of Cannatech and says, the medicinal qualities of medical marijuana is a “new and promising” field.

Cannatech has completed the first of three phases to win a medical marijuana growers license. The plan is to build a fifty thousand square foot facility in the biopark then expand over the years.

A second presentation by a competitive company called the Hope, Heal, Health Group – represented by former Mayor Will Flannagan – did not get approval to build a similar facility on the same parcel.
