The Fall River Street Planting Program will welcome autumn by offering a free family event called A Celebration of Trees to be held this Saturday, September 17th.
Area residents are invited to turn out at North Park on the Highland Avenue side between Hood and Stanley Streets from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Six stations will be set up for young and old alike to learn more about tree identification and everything that goes with foliage, including shape & size; leaves, fruits, and flowers – even honey bees.
Local Beekeeper Eric Pilotte harvests his own honey from bees as a hobby and will be a part of the event. He explains the difference between honey bees and other types, like hornets, and yellow jackets:
