A two-alarm fire that displaced five adults and a child on Monday at a three floor apartment building on 212 Diman Street is still under investigation, according to Fall River Fire Department Spokesman Neil Furtado.

Furtado said officials are looking at all aspects of what may have caused the blaze, including the improper discarding of cigarettes. He adds he fire appears to have started outside of the building and in the location of a common area, and a stairwell in the building. A resident at the scene had originally identified the location as a kitchen area.

FRC Media News will have more details as they become available.
