Lafayette Durfee House, Fall River’s Colonial museum, is hosting several events in December.

The community is invited to tour the house, decorated in 18th century style for Christmas, and try a cup of hot holiday wassail – also known as spiced cider – between 1 and 4 p.m. on December 9.

On December 15, the house will be open from 11 to 4 p.m. At 11:30 visitors can hear a dramatic reading of The Night Before Christmas performed by David Mello, followed by a craft for children and a raffle.  Later the same day, at 1:30, a demonstration of 18th century chocolate making will take place at the house’s hearth.

From 1 to 4 p.m. on December 16, visitors can make an 18th century-inspired tin Christmas ornament with tinner John Garcia. This family-friendly event is recommended for ages 6 and up, with a suggested donation of $5.00.

Lafayette Durfee House is located at 94 Cherry St. For more information about these and other events, call (774) 322-1598 or click here: http://www.lafayettedurfeehouse.org/events.html
