Creative Arts Network (C.A.N.) is bringing ARTWEEK, an innovative state-wide festival, to Fall River for the first time, and you’re invited! 

ARTWEEK was founded in 2013 to bring communities in Massachusetts unusual and unexpected experiences that are interactive or that offer behind-the-scenes access to artists or the creative process. Our local celebration will take place from April 27th to May 6th.

"The Tango" Exhibit & Reception – Cherry & Webb Gallery

Creative Arts Network hosts a reception and an exuberant exhibit of works by Marina Katayeva inspired by the tango. Marina will do a short presentation about her works and what inspired her designs, as well as a short tango dance – and attendees are invited to join in.

Join amateur radio enthusiasts for a special day of exploring the art of radio communications, Try equipment and make contact with radio operators near and far. There will also be demonstrations of other shipboard communications such as Morse Code.

 

Experience the World of Art in VR – Business Innovation Center

Travel the world and visit museums without leaving the room and take part in a Virtual Reality Scavenger Hunt. Search for artifacts in a variety of VR environments and paint or sculpt your artistic vision to bring it to life in VR. Open to all ages and skill levels.

 

Lizzie Borden and the 40 Whacks – Abbey Grill

The Borden murder case has fascinated people for over 125 years. Creative Arts Network hosts an interactive Lizzie Borden afternoon at the church Lizzie Borden attended, now a fine dining establishment.  The event includes a mock trial that invites the audience to question Lizzie and vote on her guilt or innocence.

Enjoy an interactive exhibit of student art called Look Harder, See More, and Hopes & Dreams featuring pen & ink drawings, photography, and cultural crafting.  Students will be on hand for live drawing and crafting demonstrations and guests are invited to create along with them.

SouthCoast Ringers Handbell Ringers Concert

The SouthCoast Ringers perform a medley of popular tunes with handbells, featuring local and group compositions.  At the concert’s conclusion, the audience can ring a variety of the bells for themselves. What better way to ring in May?
